You can pick up a GeForce 6600 GT for between $150 and $200.

Here's one:

How do you know your 5900 XT is faster than a 6600 GT? Remember that the core/memory speed is not the only thing that determines the speed of a graphics card. I've never heard of a 5900 XT being faster than a 6600 GT.

It's decent. I would go with the ATI X800 XL instead though. Here's how I rate current video cards for gamers:

High End: GeForce 7800 GTX
Mainstream: Radeon X800 XL
Budget: GeForce 6600 GT

Obviously these cards aren't cheap. All of them will run current games at reasonable quality and resolution. I'm personally buying a Radeon X800 XL because the GeForce 6600 GT isn't quite good enough for Battlefield 2 on higher settings from what I've read and the GeForce 7800 GTX is ridiculously expensive.

I personally use the ATI based cards and have never looked back @ Nvidia....anything I throw at this card it never hiccups, but then it was an expensive card @ x800xtpro.

oooo. i do tend to agree about ATI. the first time i used a 5600....well to makes a long story shot the 9600 perfomed better than the 5600 by a long shot.

thats why i like 'em more!
