I just got some old laptops(486's) and I was wondering if you could hook a GPS up to it somehow. Just use the laptop as a monitor? That way you wouldnt have to look at that same GPS monitor when driving down the road,

RadioShack used to sell one for $99 that hooked up to your laptop. Last I heard they stopped carrying them. You might want to try ebay.

GPS, Global Positioning System
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=%22gps%22

They come in many forms. Handheld for outdoor activities, ones built into depth finders for fishing, ones built into cars for driving just to name a few.

Some have detailed maps, some have radar blip like displays.

It is not built in to the car. I will have to get the model number and stuff, and then get back to you. Thanks guys,

There are all kinds of GPSs out there. I just bought a bluetooth one for my PDA. You can get one for your lap top with windows software.
