Buy an anti-static wristband.

LOL -> you kidding right?

Man I can't believe the things they are coming up with now a days.

To make sure you are properly ground just don't do drugs and limit your intake of booze! Also try not to day dream!

Seriously, as far as I know touch something that can conduct and make sure you don't work on any carpets. I usually do it in a room with tiles. But even the times I haven't had a choice I haven't had hassles (just make sure you are not wearing woolen items)

I'm serious. Not worth ruining thousands of dollars of components when you can buy a $5 part that almost completely eliminates the risk of ruining your components.

Anti-static wrist strap $7 bucks and you don't have to worry about ESD, well worth it.

well i never had to worry about grounding my self for the first 13-15 years of my life... becuase my dad was just just so good at it. at one point i was grounded from watching tv for 5 years (i'm not joking!)

those days are over though.. haven't been grounded in over two years.

i always just touch the case...
