hard drive error

I have a sata Hard drive that died
every time i turn the computer on it says disc read error
'Press Ctr l+Alt+Del to Reboot'

I want to know if its possible to stick in an external drive
and use it as my C drive

The only way to use an external drive as a system drive is if the BIOS supports USB boot. I boot backtrack like that on a laptop.

Or maybe you can take the hard drive out of the external hard drive enclousure.

yeah but the external enclousure has a hard drive inside of it if you take it out of the enclousure you can just install it into the computer as a internal drive

so you want o say me that i connect the external hard disk by the usb cable to the hard disk. but how is it possible to connect the external hard disk in the computer through the usb port.

but my sata hard disk has been corrupted and the computer is not running.
what do i do.

yes i connected the external hard drive to the computer with the usb port but the computer is still as it is . it is not showing anything on the screen.it shows the same error as read disk error.

I think you need someone to help you locally. Try to find a friend who has more experience. Some things are hard to explain over the internet.

now the problem has been resolved .
i installed the windows in my computer.

every thing is working fine .
so really appreciate to all of you , who have helped me to resolve the issue.
