Hi,

I just bought a server with 16 hot swap SATA bays. It came with one SATA drive. When I try to install the OS, windows set up says that there is no hard drive insatlled and I have one hard drive installed as an array. I During boot, the POST shows 1 ARRAY found 232 GB.I just don't understand why set says that there no HD and can't proceed to the installation. Any one has a suggestion

Max

Thanks

Generally speaking, an array is usually more than one hard drive.

Here is what I suggest. Go to the server manufacturer's website and download SATA drivers. You will need to put these on a floppy disk,

When installing windows presss F6, watch the bottom of the screen for a prompt about pressing F6 to load SCSI/RAID Drivers. Insert the floppy with the drivers and follow the onscreen instructions.

i agree with grinch, it may depend on what type of array you are using whether its raid 0,1,5, etc, 1 and 5 require multiple drives
