yeah, ive noticed that on some older boxes running it, but for mine, it actually did what it promised, some what, MADE IT BETTER

I beleive a graphics card improves start uptime (correct me if wrong) and id make sure ur ram working correctly

Oh I wasn't dissing SP2 other than taking longer to boot my systems both run much better with it than they did without.

or try hitting F8 just before the windows XP screen, then selecting the "Confirm" option (or whatever it's called) to see exactly WHERE it's slowing down

Not true. My boot takes between 14 and 20 seconds. I have had XP on this machine for well over a year and have not reinstalled.

true, but for older computers, like my mothers, a 96 box running sp2, it takes anywhere from 5-8 mins to boot, its been defragged, formatted, and its got a better video card, and more ram than me, only thing she lacks is processor speed

i have tunexp on this computer and it took about 6 secs off my boot time
its a pretty nice piece of software if you can get a noncorrupt exe of it
it took me a day to fine a noncorrupt exe of tunexp 1.5
it worked for me
