HELP!!!!! New Hard drive - installation problem

Hi to all i remember and to all the new people,for those that do know me they know what ive been going thru.The meds im on have my brain a little slow and i need help with my computer ,i forget things so much.I bought a new hard drive a 80g.When i plug it in i am getting a warning screen a anoying warning screen,
warning primary eid controller is operating outside of normal specifications
how can i fix it?
i tested my hd on another computer(neighbors) it hooked up and worked rt away,how can i configure it or work around it or what do i need,im so lost,ive become computer stupid once again.....

Well, the foremost result I got on your error was an indication that your "brand new" hard drive is failing (not likly the case since you got it to work fine elsewhere.

Reboot your computer. Enter Setup. Ensure your first boot device is your CD drive. Insert your Hardrive setup CD. Reboot. Follow instructions.
