Hi,
I have an older IBM thinkpad laptop with windows xp.
I was working fine for months until last night when it randomly flashed the BSoD and restarted. Ever since it won't load at all, it gives me an option of using either: safe mode. safe mode w/networking, safe mode w/command prompt, last one that worked, and normal.
I have tried all of these and none will boot up my laptop. I also turned it off all night afterwards. Nothing has worked and plese note the fact that i cannot start it up enough to even see my desktop.
Thank you,
bb

What is the BSoD error message exactly?

Did you recently install a new hardware device? That is the most common error you get when there is a driver conflict with a new hardware device.

Normally, you can boot to last known good configuration and it should resolve the problem. Then you would need to find the most current drivers from the hardware manufacturer's website and try installing again.

Since the normal boot options aren't working for you at all, try a repair install. Read these instructions carefully if you have never done it before
