HELP PLEASE

i have a decent laptop with great specs but the video card is terrible and i heard of people using pc cards as video cards ..... is there ne way i can get something to make my graphics better .... i would really appreciate some feed back this got me excited thinking theres a way to play better looking games maybe an external card even or some kind of adapters ?
