IDE Plug :(

the pluce were you plug in the IDE HDs..well i have three on my mobo.

IDE1
IDE2
IDE3




Well whenever i plug a hard drive, in IDE1 or IDE 2, the hard drive does not power up. but when i plug it into IDE3 (witch is where i plug my cd drives) it powers up. WTF is wrong? i really dont want to have to get a nother fuking mobo,...soo help me out please! what are any possible ways i can get the damn IDE plugs to work???

Sounds like you IDE 1 and IDE2 are out of commission. You can cheat having to buy a new mobo by getting a PCI IDE Controller (about $35 bucks at CompUSA, last time I checked) and plugging your CD Rom's into that.
No telling what will go wrong with your mobo next, though, you really should get a new one or RMA it for warranty work if you still have warranty on it.

Ha ha. i cuss to get pplz to answer. :lol: i do have an IDE controler. it has two IDE1 & IDE2. but the hard drves/cd-rom drive still dont power up when i plug 'em into it.

soo i guess i have to get a nother mobo. (Crap :roll: )

what the "heck" happen to my IDE1 And IDE2 things? how did they go "out-of-commesion"?

Have you switched power leads going to them? I had a psu that had a lead going back ....and because of the under current it was sending, cause all kindsa weird things to happen.

You have more computer problems than anyone else on this forum it seems. Didn't it take you 5 builds to get this PC running?

i have four others, but i never use them for nothen.

and i'm alway getting problems, upgrading my hardware. like this damn problem came up when i got another hard drive and was installing it, and it would not power up.

seems like every part i get for this comp theres a problem.
