Go back into bios, and make shure USB is enabled .
Next (were is your intel express installer cd ) that goes with that MOBO
,like all of them have a microsoft patch for XP for USB 2.0 (Q312370)on the CD ,,that needs to installed (or got to intel's download site .and download it from there. you do no there is 22 MOBO's that intel made that start with D845,,so make shure you no what one you have.

It doesn't matter tho ,cause all of the MOBO's needed that microsoft patch Q312370.

You'll need to find an earlier version of the bios. It's possible the same program you used to update your virus saved the original for restoration purposes.

 If you have a jumper that clears CMOS on your mobo maybe it could restore your original BIOS ( or not :?: )

Why do you think that by reverting back to an earlier bios is going to fix it ! it's not, don't work like that (sorry) you have got something else going on ,you need to go to device manager ,and look at View up at the
top ,and select (show hidden devices) then look for any red X's or Yellow ! ,,and if you have any ,best way is right click on them ,and UNINSTALL it and reboot ,and device manager will find them all over again.
