I have an old 3G Ipod and when I sync my songs using itunes it tends to wipe all of my songs.

If I only sync a few songs (say 100 songs) it is usually okay; however if I try to sync all the songs on itunes it wipes all of the songs on my ipod. When I sync my ipod the battery looks like it isrunning low on battery so when I think that I have synced enough songs I click the disconnect button on itunes so I can stop the sync process. It then tells me that it is now safe to disconnect my ipod, which I then do. When I go back to my ipod I find that all af the songs have been removed and when I plug the ipod into itunes again it tells me that I need to restore my ipod once again.

Is this happening because I do not have a firewire port on my PC and only use a USB sync cord (because I use a firewire ac adapter to charge my ipod)?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance:)
