Laptop won't turn on, need advice.

Anyone know why a laptop won't turn on. Know of one for sale and I'm wondering if I could fix this one instead. Maybe it's a bad HD

May be it's just power?

Yeah i would say battery aswell

i know this is stupid but have you tried to start is with the AC plug in ?

As for problems of broken hardware i would look at the HD as you don't boot your pc fro there but only your OS, so if it was a bad HDD you should be able to boot but would get an error at your OS start.

As hardware problem i would look at your motherboard or perhaps the battery of your motherboard as run out.

or BIOS

or corrupted registry file.

If the computer won't start at all the registry and or the BIOS are not the problems.

Does it work with the laptop plugged in?

As for changing the HDD it's very easy to do.
