How the heck do you extract or open an md5 file. Sorry i now this isnt hardware it is a software problem.

This is a md5 file checker utility.

You view it in a dos window.
Open an MS-DOS window and go to the directory you want to check. When you are in that directory, type:

md5sum -c [filename].md5


Here's another:

This one here looks the nicest: checkSum+
doesn't use a dos window.

It's free and can handle files more than 4Gb size.
