Hey about your Xircom and Cardbus issue, I think it might be because you have a resource conflict.

It's either with the I/O Addressing, DMA Addressing, or the IRQ's. To check that go right-click My Computer and go to Properties. From there go to your device manager, for Win XP thats under Hardware, Device Manager.

Once there see if theres any Red or Yellow symbols, and tell us which ones.

Also it would be better if you started a new thread since this shouldn't be a memory issue. It's resource issue.

Here's one that will create a bootable floppy.

http://www.memtest.org/download/1.26/me ... floppy.zip

Extract the files from the Zip archive and follow the instructions in the readme.txt.

Reguardless of how well you take care of your computer...DLL files and driver loads hardly ever get removed during the uninstall process. Even the guru's reccomend a reformat every 12 to 18 months. I suppose you could keep track of every file on your computer, but then why not use your own O.S.? I can see it now...BOS...Bobs Operating Systems

i use norton ghost, and i have 2 drives...

one contains all of my data, and the other just contains program installations...

a while ago i completely wiped my programs drive, and istalled everything fresh, then i used Norton Ghost and burned an image of the drive to a DVD... now approxamately every 6 months i reimage the drive... that way i dont have to go through all the hassle of re-installing everything and reactivating windoze... its worked out quite well...

I think you mean " Diagnostics " ,I could be wrong .lol

Diagnostics :
Of, relating to, or used in a diagnosis.
Serving to identify a particular disease; characteristic.
The art or practice of medical diagnosis. Often used in the plural with a singular verb.
A symptom or a distinguishing feature serving as supporting evidence in a diagnosis.
An instrument or a technique used in medical diagnosis.

Thats were it came from ,but the word can be thrown out in the same
type of meaning when diagnosing your PC,your Car ,or anything really.

Diagnosis:
The act or process of identifying or determining the nature and cause of a disease or injury through evaluation of patient history, examination, and review of laboratory data.
The opinion derived from such an evaluation.

A critical analysis of the nature of something.
The conclusion reached by such analysis.

Just 2 more terms that had there start in the Medical world ,
and are now used more in other area's of the technical world.
