My brother partitioned his harddrive into E and C.

E is now full to bursting point and C is pretty much empty.

He would like to merge the two together to have just the one drive.

doesnt have a restore disc, but doesnt mind if he loses anything from the computer.

We tryed reinstalling XP pro, but when it came to the partition bit where you can delete partitions, it only showed the one - E drive.

is there a free program that can merge the two drives?

Thankyou,

Get somthing like Partition Magic.

With that you can temporarily resize the C partition to be just big enough to hold the files that are on it. Then you can resize the E partition by adding what should now be unpartitioned space. Then you can move the files from C to E. Then you can delete the C partition and add that space to E as well.
