modding a laptop

i am thinking about modding the laptop i am getting, painting it yellow, and i was thinking of putting a steel X on the front. you know the steel that has the little ovals on it. but i do not know where to get it. any idea?

also, below is a picture of my plan that i generated in paint (my computer is down so i cant use photoshop)



steel or plastic that has those ovals, plastic preferred.

I don't really know what steel you're talking about. Is it like diamond plate?

yeah, thats the texture, do you know if they have that on plastic or smoked arcrylic?

if not, do you know where to get it personalized? or should i cut it myself?

I wanted to diamond plate my garage once. That stuff is like $200 a sheet. That idea went out the window REAL fast.

i desided to go with smoked acrylic.

Sorry to drag this thread back up, but I found a similar laptop in the tip, and am wondering how it worked out for you.

My one even has a broken opening latch like yours, but on the other side.

It's really cool. I'm hoping to use it as a portable gaming rig for Doom 2. It doesn't even have an ethernet port!
