Trying to host a server for what? Game Server, web server?

First off, you need to decide on your server, will you be using IIS or Apache?

Second, you will need to forward port 80 in your router. http://www.portforward.com/networkevery ... gering.htm

Once there we can help you further.

Basically, you have to go into your router settings, and forward a port to your computer. Thus directing people trying to access the server, is directed to the correct location.

It took me a little while to learn how to forward, you will get the hang of it :)

The link I posted is step by step instructions on how to forward ports for his router. So as long as he follows those steps he should be good. Here is an article on setting up a UT2004 server. Hope it helps.

The ports needed for UT2004 are listed here http://www.portforward.com/cports.htm
