I want to upgrade my MB/CPU on my XP Pro system. Is it as simple as swapping the hardware, or am I gonna get a big headache out of this?

Moved this to hardware. It'll get a little more attention here than the Windows board.

It's basically just a swap with one extra step. When you are ready to install the new MB/CPU, delete everything out of device manager, shut down, swap the hardware, and boot it back up. This way, Windows will go through and autodetect everything new without being confused that your old devices are no longer present.
