try right clicking on it, and choosing "open", instead of the one that is highlighted.

just a thought.

when you plug it in if your running windows a box probably comes up with several options about how to handle the MP3 player.

When this happens if there is a open with windows explorer option click that otherwise click the take no action choice and go to my computer, it should show up then right click and chose open.

hope this helps!

Plug in your player, wait for it to be recognized.
Then do, 'Start', 'Run' and type in "compmgmt.msc" sans quotes.

When the 'Computer Management' dialog box opens, go down to 'Disk Management' under 'Storage'. See if you can see the MP3 player there. Alternatively look in 'Removable Storage'.

Then report back here.

I have never used that particular make/model of mp3 player. I do ultimately see at what you are getting at, and its inherent usefulness. My Blackberry has a "Mass Storage Mode" that allows its internal microSD card to be seen as a storage drive on the PC. Maybe there is an internal setting?

Try deleting the drivers and the device from device manager. Boot into safe-made and open Device manager and it will display all devices even if they are disconnected. Then try reconnecting the device and re-installing any drivers and software.

Try older/newer versions of the software also. Some vendors turn that feature off in newer versions because they are stupid morons. Some better ones turn it on in the software because they are smart and beautiful people.
