Does anyone know of a softphone on the market that lets you use any service?

I have a NEC Dterm IP phone which has power cable and ethernet cable. The phone also has two LAN ports on the back and some people here have their phone daisy chained to their computer, but only so they can get their PC online.

My PC is wireless, but I was wondering if there was a way I could connect the phone to my PC and route incoming calls to a softphone on my PC. This seems like it would still depend if the softphone is generic enough to use any phone service and not their own provider.

I also don't have any credentials for the pbx system running here so I'd need it to authenticate through the phone and simply route the call to my PC. So, I was hoping I'd get around that by daisy chaining.
