10 minutes after this startup(unused): 55.0
idle: 54

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

k its a Athlon XP 2800+ Ocd 0.26 Mhz for a round number on the clock speed(2.2GHz)

with a foxconn CPU cooler that is dying(its exceeded the 4000Hr claimed use life at 6500Hrs  ) it is Uuber loud(42db loud) though and that is why im getting rid of it

i might just buy a new fan for it though ill post again when i find my measuring tape

i suggest creating a humongous copper heatsink and folding it yourself. make it extremely large, and pretty.

otherwise, i used this and ive not had a problem with it yet. its a bitch to clean though, as when you air blast it, the fan spins, blowing the dust off on its own...onto all the other pretty dust covered part of your computer.

its slow, silent, but every once in a while [heavy bf2 playing] its spins up a lot and its really noisy. otherwise, extremely silent, decent, and 3 pin [which i think you can hook up to the mobo and monitor and whatnot]

otherwise...yeah...buy it...

Hi.
I have a zalman in a p4 3.0 prescott and the temps ate about 40\41 idle 45\50 full (the prescott is cpu that usually gets very high temps...this temps ar less than 10ยบ that the ones with the stock cooler),and my pc is usually 24\7 on (allways :) )...i definitly recomend it!
there are two other things that are usually needed!the first is to usually clean the coolers from timi to time since they acumulate durst, etc that makes them not function properly.
Second-use a good termal compound (i recomend Artic Silver ceramique)

yes and it was runing at 85 degrees celcius out of the box and wouldn't boot so i dont want it good as new :)

i clean the d** thing 2-4 times a month
i havent used the ceramic version of arctic silver is it any better than normal arctic silver

i have used zalman on several ocasions but cant quite justify a 48+dollar price tag for a computer thats just gonna get scrapped in about 3 or 4 more months. and yes the zalman is compatible with everything modern on the market(i have a friend who modded one and has it on a radion X1800XT)
but the next comp is gonna be liquid cooled
