I have a gateway computer with a 1.4 Intel P4, now my question is I want to upgrade, but kinda slowly when I have money, so I have decided my first up grade is going to be mother board, I need one that has an 8x AGP Port, can support faster processors and HT, etc, etc.

According to the support docs for my motherboard my proccessor is a 423 pin processor, is this a socket 478?

Here is the link to the support page for my MOBO

The reason I am asking is because if I can get a new MOBO, and some memory to go with it, I would like to use my current processor until I have the money to buy a new one.

Pentium 4's are Socket 478. Just make sure your motherboard has a processor FSB of 400mhz. has a large variety of mobo's that fit these specifications.
