Ok I have a Compaq, Presario 2500. I recently bought World of warcraft, so when I play its a bit slow, so I thought I would upgrade my ram from 512 to 1gig.

I have bought a Kingmax DDR SO-DIMM, DDR333. I put it in but it doesn't detect it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You didn't say what size memory module you bought. I checked this site.

http://memory-up.com/memory_finders/Mem ... odelid=197

333mhz. is PC2700 from what I can find on the specs for your machine it requires PC2100 which is 266mhz.

The memory should be backward compatable. Your system only supports 1gb.

You probably already knew all this. Just trying to help you out.

You might re-check to make sure the module is pushed all the way in the socket?

Good luck.
