Networking a USB printer

Greetings all,
At work, we have a small local network. We have a windows PC with a shared USB HP 1500L Color Laser Printer.
Most of the machines in the office are Windows, but we also have 2 Macs.
The Win boxes can see and use the shared printer fine, but the Macs can't use them. They can "see" the printer, and can send jobs to the printer, but they never get printed.

If I get a small hub/router with a USB print server (like this d-link), Does the internal print server have an IP address that the Macs can connect to for printing?

Is there something else I can look for in the Mac (perhaps some config setting) that maybe causing problems for us?

I saw that, and to be honest, it's confusing. If the router IS the print server, why would I need printer server software in the first place?

good question i didn't think about it long enough before posting that, I would guess the software is to configure the server, but once configured I guess that really dosen't matter.

Don't know enough about macs to say that would work for you though.
