Ok heres the spec of my mates new build:

AMD 64 x2 3800+
Abit Fatil1ty Mobo
Baracuda 120 gb Hdd ATA
2 x 1 gb RAM
Ati Radeon x300 SE gfx card (PCIE)
7.1 soundcard (forgot make)
Guru Panel (Comes with MoBo)

The problem:

After assembling all the parts, following the instructions carefully, we have hit a problem!

When initially plugged in the power led comes on, along with the LAN led ect.
The problem arises when we push the power on button, and nothing happens!

The weird thing is that out of about 60 attempts it worked twice! We have double checked every connection, but stil cannot locate the solution!

Has any of you had a similar problem? Or any suggestions on whgat could be wrong?

All help would be appreciated,

Cheers,

try minize this pc...
leave only power (i don't know whether it's right to call it so..), CPU, mainboard, graphic card, memory and HDD, then unplug any cable linked with case(chassis), short power pin with a screw driver...
if it boots, the problem is not on these parts...
ps: also check jumpers!

it seems the chassis may be the problem according to "2/60"...

Might just be a faulty power on switch. Try shorting the PWR_ON pins on the motherboard with anything metallic and see if it fires up.

We worked out why!

The mobo was broke!
I think it was shorting on the chassis...no worries we have sent off for a replacement!

Cheers Guys
