the new motherboards now have PCI express insted of AGP. It runs at 16X insted of the old 4X - 8X AGPs. I dont believe there are any cards out yet that can use the PCI express to its fullest ability but ATI and nvidia are both working on them.

Theirs no games out that tax a 8x APG, heck even 4x AGP... the bus isn't the bottleneck.. so their is no real performance benifit.. be like when 8x AGP came out..

nice thing about PCI-E when it comes out on more then Intel boards, is that you'll be able to run 2 Video cards.. SLI.. so each card draws 1/2 the monitor.. making the vidoes run faster.

The latest Geforce 6600 and Geforce 6600 GT will be PCI Express cards and NOT PCI. The new PCI which replaces PCI and AGP on our motherboards.

oh and its only the Geforce 6600 GT card that can be doubled...

pci express is much better then the AGP. also the regular pci slots of motherboards are being enhanced for newer motherboards.

Hmmm maybe too late for me cos I upgraded 2 motherboards 2 months ago to Abit AN7 Guru. I dont see PCI Express on any of the Abit's: http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/
