First off do you no what drivers you have.
have you ever un-installed nvidia drivers ?
Here's what i would do ,and to concur with Nucleo.that card is the worst.
they should of keep making the Ti4200,and never even produce that card.
We don't no if you have any conflicts so were going the easy route.
you are going to download some drivers .
Nvidia coded there drivers for a reason
Ti4xxx series worked best on 40.xx and up drivers
GFX5xxx series worked best on 50.xx and up drivers
and FX6xxx work best on 60.xx and up drivers
Some of the GFX5xxx series card can get away with using 60.xx drivers
Beta's work better on a lot of (as an example) 5900xt,se,le,nu ,u ,5950u
your card is getting tried and true drivers ,,,53.03 or 56.72
I personally would use 53.03 since they are a benchmark driver.
and i no they will work pretty darn good on your card .
you have to download them first (If i was you ,I would open up my C drive and right click and add a new folder (Nvidia) thats were your dowloading the drivers to ...make it real easy.
first link is just to show you how many Nvidia drivers there are.
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?id=10
2nd link is 53.03
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_53.03.html
3rd is 56.72
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_56.72
next your going to download DriverCleaner
http://www.driverheaven.net/cleaner/
and download that right into the Nvidia file (cause when you exacute it )
it will make it's own folder .
So thats 3 things now that you downloaded.
Next go to start ,control panel ,add an remove programs
an uninstall whatever video drivers you have in there ..
reboot
when you come back up ,go to the Drivercleaner file ,and click on the
RED icon...once it comes up it pretty cut and dry .
There's a dropdown bar for you to select what drivers ,,,about halfway down the list you want to click on the first ,,,Nvidia... there's like 3 cause
of the Nforce2 motherboard ...but you want the first one...then hit clean
By the way if after you reboot and the device manager is trying to install
new hardware JUST IGNORE IT..
after you clean with drivercleaner i would reboot again.
Now when you come back up ,go to the nvidia file ,and click on the blue
53.03 excutable icon .and this will install the file's into it's own 53.03 file
then you go into that one and click on it's blue icon to install the drivers to your video card then reboot ..
If by chance you get a Not certified drivers error while installing the 53.03's just hit okay and continue to install them..
I no this will help
Thing about games is ,,ram intensive, video card ram intensive, and processor intensive,,,,and you never said what your specs were for
any of that
If you have a P4 1.8Ghz,and 256mb of ram,and that card ...your not going anywere fast ....ya no
But those drivers will help you ,and drivercleaner will clean out the old
let me no ....this is not hard at all ..just do it in the sequence that i wrote
down.
the 56.72's are for latter if you want to compare ,and you feel like you can do this all over again...you have to use Drivercleaner each time...
And never install drivers overtop of each other ,,clean out the old first.
Save your money .lol ,The nicest card out (or best bang for the buck)
Is the new FX6600,for $150.00 it's almost as fast as the 6800 .
