o.k hereis my situation.. the button that i use to turn on my laptop stopped working. so.. in my infinate wisdom lol i opened her up to see what the prob was and i think i caused more damage needles to say to make a long story short if the is no power on button anymore is ther still away to turn on the laptop...

take it to a computer shop and get a new button put on.

Do you know that its your button? What kind of laptop is it? My sister had a dell and the mother board fired. So the start button "didnt work".

If the power button came completely off the board, you should be able to short the leads where it connected and turn it on.
