OUT OF RANGE ERROR

Hi
I am using windows XP SP2 and have problem with the resolution. Previously it was working and now it is not working. whenever I change my resolution to 1024 the monitor says out of range error. I have a motherboard and the system software says its 845GL I have changed by VGA drivers 2 to 3 times.......... I don't know what is happening
