thats with 256mb of GeIL value PC3200 ram, and im still using the stock heatsink, FSB is at 235mhz i can reach 240 but the processor ends up in the high 60's so im not going any higher until i get a new heatsink. What does everyone think of the Asus Star Ice???

welllll, don't have proof, but I used to have an Abit BP-6 mobo with dual pII 400's running at 800Mhz. This really had nothing to do with my OC skill, but more to do with the fact that the BP-6 was an EXCELLENT OC mobo, and the simple fact that the CPU's were a matched pair that came out of an AST server (the serials are literally 1 digit apart. Yes I still have them and yes they still work)

Cooling was fun with that one too, as I had to hack the case side to make tabs to hang an extra fan from. Even so, they ran really close to overheating with SETI@home running.

The Asus Star Ice is a MONSTER !!

I'm looking to use it on my next PC, it got some great reviews from lots of top magazines.

It comes with one 80mm fan as standard but can also have a second 80mm fan attached aswell in a push-pull effect. The fan speed is adjustable too which is probably a good thing, as two 80mm fans going full out is going to be noisy.

Only downside is the size. Its SO big, its needs securing from both sides of your mobo. That said, its not going to stop me getting one !!

Thats the strange looking vertical water cooling system isn't it ?

Thats supposed to be quite good aswell, very quite as its cooled by fins rather than fans.

I would personaly go for the Start Ice but thats because I have nowhere to store that monsterous beast of a water tower.

Depends what mobo you have it mightn't be reading the temperature probe accurately make sure you have the latest bios, also just touch the heatsink while the computers on and see how hot it is obviously you will know if it's getting too hot 8)

lol Skirge, love that desktop. Reminds me of the Bloodhound Gang Lyric: "I'm the root of all that's evil, yeah, but you can call me Cookie" (From Fire-Water-Burn)
