I was wondering why I hadn't seen you yet, whatlikesit. I just got back to reading this post. I was curious that there were others who supported this idea, but I don't see them yet. We need some more team members!

This is cool. I have 3 computers at work that sit there from 9:01 PM until 9:30 AM doing nothing! Once a week they do virus scans but otherwise nada! Im gonna set them up with this tommorow!

I would do my computer too, but my computer indexes all night long; so they wouldn't get any help.

Actually, you can set this to run all the time, which is what I do (I have a similar setup 3 computers each of which have about 16 hours of unused time. So I just set them to run all the time. Even when I'm using them, I don't notice any real performance issues.

Which version of Seti@home are you guys using? There's a Command Line version which processes units much faster than the grapical version. Also, there are lots of utilities available which make using the CLI version less cumbersome. I used to use SetiDriver. Not sure what's happening with the CLI version these days.

It was handy for caching work units. You can download more than one unit. If the server goes down, you won't be stuck waiting for units to process.

I've got an account but I haven't used it in a while. If I can find my password I'll transfer over to the Ozzu team. I only have 142 units completed but I guess every little bit helps. If not, I guess I'll just start from scratch.

I just installed a couple weeks ago, so I'm using whatever is current. If I'm not mistaken there's a link at the OZZU team page to retrieve your pass if you forgot it (assuming you remember what email account you used to retrieve it) *lol

///Yep -- here is the password retrieval link: http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/get_passwd.html

I'm still curious how often this thing is updated. I've got over 140 units in now and our team page isn't showing any updates since Tuesday where I was at 95.

The email account I registered under is now defunct. Oh well, I guess I'll just start over. I could have sworn I had it scribbled down somewhere.

Well folks, I am going to tip my head from side to side and pull on my bubble gum and ask the unobvious question of ... So how does this determine if there is Extraterrestrial Intelligence?
