pci ide card

hi guys, i have a pc with this problem:
one of the ide sockets on the mobo is damaged, the other one is being used by the cd drive which i will need to repair windows, this pc has an pci ide card with two ports, if i installed the hd on one of those ports, how could i set the bios up so the cd drive can see the drive when i start the repair ?

You would load the drivers for the IDE card when Windows says "Press F6 to load a 3rd party or SCSI driver"
