I have a question on SLI modes on a motherboard, so if the motherboard has 2 slots for pci-e, will I be able to put 2 of ANY pci-e card in there and they will both work together?
For example, can I have like a Gigabyte GeForce 6600GT 128MB GDDR3 PCI-Express
and
eVGA Geforce 6800GT

2 totally differnt cards running together?

OR does it have to be the identical card to run under SLI Mode?

The cards must be identical.

unless you go crossfire, in which case im pretty sure that you can have 2 different cards [both obviously pci-e] running together.

What do you mean cross fire? So I can use 2 different PCI-e Cards and it'd run together?

Crossfire is the ati sli...but with some differences, like beeing able to put two diferent cards (althoug that could notr be that great since the best one will perform as good as the worst)
