As a newb to the forum, I can only offer my system as a sacrifice to the gods (in other words, I just feel compelled to post here, to fit in!):

Athlon 64 3600+ (1MB L2 Cache) ~2.2Ghz (stock speed).
Gigabyte K8NF-9 (nForce 4)
1GB PC 3200
250 GB IBM/Hitachi SATA
ATi X600 256MB (PCI-Express)
Creative SB Audigy
SONY DRU-510a DVD+/-RW
NEC (model no. unknown) DVD+/-RW Dual Layer
...
OH! And my HSP 56K V.92 modem. :) Yay for being home from school without campus provided internet.

I'm pretty happy with this video card. I'm from the old days of 3dfx, their anti-aliasing with almost no performance loss was amazing; nobody's done it the same way since. But the card, now, the x600, is a very good LOW-END modern card. It's got todays specs, but it's at the back of the pack - like an entry level or "poor man's" 3D Accelerator. Which is enough for me, these days. I don't do as much gaming as I used to, though I do play my share of Need For Speed Most Wanted and Quake IV. ;)

Any typos are to blame on a slight hangover, and like the 2nd or 3rd time in my life using an ergonomic keyboard (split in the middle style).

i hate those ergo keyboard. my father has one [he probably also has cts]

the x600 is a very decent card, its comparable to the x1300, or x1400 mobility versions.

Anti -anlensing (sorry typo). When I bought this rig I didn't do the research I should have done incase I want to upgrade. Although I am satisfied with the rig after a little checking I should have gotten a AMD X2 versus the Pent D I bought. The comparision charts I looked at has the Pent significanlty lower than the AMD.

But from expericance this chip has been great. I was playing Battlefeild 2 the other day and when I quit I found on my desktop Nortin AV running a scan. I was ammazing after reading that you need to shut off all backgroud tasks.

There is a place to ask for help and here in the hardware forum is not the place.
