I suppose I should contribute to this thread, so here's my standing desk, re-purposed from an IKEA kitchen utility table. Ghetto Literary Mouse Elevation Solution™ aside, it works really well.

This picture is 2 months old but nothing has changed. This is my home desk. monitor is plugged into my
Almost one year old, HP ProBook 4430s
Processor: Original: Intel Celeron CPU B840 Dual core 1.90Ghz
Graphics: Intel 3000 Integrated into Processor. outputs: VGA and HDMI
Ram: Upgraded: 2 x 4GB Crosair Vengence DDR3 Laptop
HDD: Upgraded to SSD: 512GB OCZ Vector Solid State Drive
Operating System: Windows 8 soon to be 8.1

.....the hard drives in the top right of the desk are two 3tb WD green, one 1.5tb seagate, and a 500gb seagate. The bottles are Engine Honey.
