I really need some help with a unique problem that I am having. My computer just recently acquired a trojan horse and has gotten all messed up. I wanted to format my hard drive and reinstall a fresh copy of Windows XP pro, but I was used to doing it on Windows 98 and accidently installed a fresh copy of it OVER my old copy without any formatting. When I try to format it in the setup, it doesn't let me delete the partition and doesn't give me any options to format, just to intall another copy of windows again. I also tried doing it through the command prompt, but it said that the partition was currently running and couldn't be locked up so it wouldn't do it. I WOULD make an msdos boot disk and do it that way, but I recently found out that my floppy drive isn't working. I am really stuck and not sure how to do it. I am not a computer genius but if anyone can help, please respond. Thank you.

hi dude........
i was confused by reading ur post.. did u installd fresh copy of win-xp over win98 or the other way? ok, any way , if you have installed the fresh copy over win98 and you want to format your drive you better put your bootable cd and reinstall your xp or win98. while installing it will ask that whether you want to perfoem repair or presh copy. just go to fresh copy installation.
