projecters usb port

my friend just got a projecter and on the back there is a usb port. we looked everywhere and still cant find out what its for. theres no drivers on the disc or site. and when plugged in we get a message saying its a user interface device. ne one have any ideas

Can't it be to hook up your computer to it?

I have seen a few projectors that allow you to plug a thumb drive right into them to view pictures as a slideshow

nah its got one square female port (like on a printer), when plugged in all the system sees it as is a human interfact device
