Question about LCD flat panel monitors

I am looking to buy a LCD flat panel monitor. Looking from the gaming perspective. I play or am going to be playing Everquest 2 and WoW , but more of EQ2. I have Doom 3, Farcry, Battlefield , CS , and UO right now that im playing. IF anyone has a good suggestion for a flat screen monitor post a link or company name.

Of if you can tell me what to look for that would be great also. Probably 350-500 range money wise. Thanks for the help.

I just got a ThinkVision L200 at my office. Love it. Course, it's a bit out of your price range, but the quality is quite good. I recommend an L170 -- can get those for under $500.

I have a Dell 17" and was EXACTLY what I wanted when I was shopping
for one. I absolutely love it and highly recommend it to anyone. :thumbsup:

model: E173FP: it's currently on sale for $284.25 at dell.com. I paid $450 for it originally.

Hmmm a designer going for a LCD flat screen? LCD in my opinion are not very good for design because you can only really have 1 resolution (the others smudge the text).

However for games and DVD you cant been them 8)

This is the screen I have and for gaming it's perfect. For designing this is a must have!! Since as Johan007 mentioned, alot of LCD's are awful for desining this monitor was created with that in mind!

But it's pretty pricey!!

How about investing in a MAC LCD? I know that I prefer those LCDs over the others especially for designing (graphic quality is superb). So I'll assume for gaming it would be the same idea. Nowadays you can get a mac LCD for a reasonable price - a nice 17" anyways.

Just be careful on which LCD you choose, some have a grainy appearance and for gaming you definitely don't want that.

the only thing i need other resolutions for is to test spacing...otherwise
why change? 1280x1024 is the perfect resolution IMO.
