Post 3+ Months Ago

My boss has asked me to pick up some more memory for his home computer. I just want to verify that I am getting the correct memory.

He has a Dell Dimension 4400

When I went onto the dell site and looked up the config for his computer it listed the following for his memory:

4K107 DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY MODULE, 128, 266M, 16X64, 8K, 184

I believe this is 128 MB of PC2100 DDR RAM.

Does this seem right?

Thanks for the help!

From Dell,

Quote:
Package Type: 184-pin DIMM
Logical Type: 64x64
Speed: PC2100 / 266 MHz
Description: Non-Parity, Unbuffered

So you spot on. In some places you may find PC2700 is cheaper and it's backwards compatible.

Thanks Theak!!

The only reason I wasn't sure was when I went to newegg to check some prices. They listed 2 different 184 pin memory

1) being sdram

2) being 16bit RDRam

And I was afraid since it listed the memory as 16X64 that it might be RDRAM

Thanks Again!
