Last weekend my adorable 2 year old son tipped almost a whole bottle of coke over my computer, and fried it. I spent 2 days trying to work out what the problem was, CPU fan was still booting, LED lights firing up, everything was fine. I decided it could never be the processor because they are the last thing to go on a PC. Well wasn't I wrong. After ripping the whole thing apart down to motherboard, PS and processor, and nothing else but using a screw driver to boot it up, I discovered the CPU was gone.

It shocked me because the motherboard was fine, HD fine, ram was fine, everything but the CPU was fine.

Seems my son is good at these things haha.

For a second I thought he figured out how to take the processor out & just spilled the coke on it to cover his tracks.

Being that I've gone through the same thing before, it's a sickening feeling. Hope you get it back together. Make him pay for it too.

Haha, Well I have managed to get half of it back together, enough for it to work pretty well, its now running a dual core, but the case I have it all in is too small so I haven't got my video card, or sound card in it yet, so have to buy a new case. That will need to wait til after christmas!

I still have a laptop that never recovered from the night it drank a full glass of wine. I'm using it as a doorstop.
