Which brand of ram is best?
Corsair
OCZ
Kingston
GeiL
G.Skill

Also, what is the CAS thing, can someone explain? Is it the lower the better?
Is CAS 2-2-2-8 better or CAS 2-3-2-5
How do you know which is better??

All of those brands are good.

You want the CAS numbers to be lower.

geil is good for value ram.
corsair is good for both, ocz and kingston and the others are usually pricy. Ultra ram is also good and cheap. i run 1 gig of their ram in my rig and ive never had a problem yet. my timings are 2.5-3-3-8. i tried lower, but as i said, this is cheap ram, and my compy wouldnt boot.
read it!

If you are looking to save money this would not be the area of you machine you would want to skimp on. I would go ultra (good chips) or kingston, but cosair is not a bad option. kingston and ultra are readily available online so if you shop around you should find a good price. :D

I prefer Kingstone.
The others are good too.
You choose what you like.
