As some of you may know, I got myself 2x512mb DDR400 Ram
but in turn I took out my other two 2x256mb DDR333 ram....

I have 4 slots for ram, would putting the older sticks in with the newer different frequency Ram make them conflict?..

I will be buying another 1 gb of Ram soon, I just wondered if I could do this to tide me through.
As when I am rendering with Cinema 4d, I sometimes get an error "Not Enough Memory" Which is very annoying..., I think the extra 512 would make a difference, let me know

There is the possibility of conflicts. It also may make your DDR 400 run at 333. Not quite sure what problems you will run into. I would say give it a go, if you run into trouble you know what to remove.
