Your going to upgrade what? Vista or RAM?

In Windows XP, the maxiumum RAM was 4GB. On Vista however, its something stupid like 16GB.

It depends what you want to do really. 3GB should be more than enough.

But remember RAM isn't the only thing that determines the speed of your computer. Which processor do you have?

I bought some laptops with 2GB of RAM and they run Vista Ultimate very well. They also have dual core processors as well.

Absolutely, 2GB is ample for most users. Depends if you play games?

I assume you meant CPU? What are you currently running. There gets a point where you can put as much RAM in as you want, but unless you upgrade your CPU you will see no difference.

And remember to get exactly the right RAM. This is important. I use Crucial's System Scanner for this, then buy it somewhere else ;)
