You have 4 slots. 2 blue, 2 black. Thos identify each channel. You can have two sets of dual channel memory.

From your language I assume that your current stick of memory is a kingston 512MB PC3200 DDR. Ideally you should have a dual channel kit to run them in dual channel but it's worth a try. If the one is on a blue slot, throw the other one on a blue slot.

Same for black. If you have a different chip, if it will be compatable you might have to throw it iin the opposite color slot of the first.

For the new motherboards, it matters. It can make it faster/slower. This is called "DUAL CHANNEL"

you might run into problems if its two different manufacturers. Put it into the black slot instead.

ok I downloaded CPU_Z and for the manufacturer for the 1st stick it says 0000000000 and kingston for the 2nd stick. Both sticks say they are 200MHz when it shpuld be 400MHz. What should i do. Put the second kingston stick in the blue or black slot. Or take the unknown stick out and just have the kingston in it?

for dual channel you'd have to chuck sticks on similar color slots!

Dual Channel best works with identical RAM sticks...

may i ask what CPU you are using?
