RAM UPGRADING

Hallo users.I have a Dell inspiron E1505 laptop.I want to upgrade my Ram from 1gb to 2gb. According to EVEREST program i have 2x512 Ram with 533 pins DDR2.What i want to ask is that if i buy a Ram with more pins will it work on my laptop or if i buy ram with less pins will tht work????or am i suppose to buy only 533 pins .

You have to buy exactly what the mother board will accept, no more and no less.

Yes buy 533 DDR2. First off, make note of how many slots your motherboard has for RAM.

If there are 3 slots then you can have any combination of 533 DDR2 sticks. If there are 4 slots, then it is likely you have to have 2 of the same for each set of 2 slots. Check your motherboard manual to make sure.

Also, if you are upgrading to 2 GB from 2 512MB (1GB) You need to make sure of those slots, whether there are 3 or 4.

Most likly you have 2 DIMMS, In this case to go from the 2x512mb sticks you will mostly need to buy a single 2gb stick, or 2x1gb sticks.
