This isnt exactly a problem, but i was sort of thinking about upgrading my computer so i thought maybe you guys could help me out.

First of all i only use my computer mostly for gaming and for internet and for lissning songs and all that. The main thing that i do is gaming.

First of all at the moment i have 256 Mb ram installed on a Intel P4 2.4 Ghz with 40 gb disk space. My graphics card is a Geforce MX 4000 (128 Mb). Other then that i have some crappy speakers and an old monitor installed.

1,So basically i want to know what ammount of ram is sufficient to cover all my gaming needs and how much should i buy and what will be its approximate price.
2, 40gb space is too small for me, i also save some movies and other multimedia along with softwares which eats up my space. I only have around 2-3 Gb free at the moment. How much should i increase ? and what is the biggest capacity hard-disk availible and what is its price ?
3,My Graphics card isnt a good one but the problem is i want to get a good graphics card and a cheap one too. which is the cheapest 256 mb card availible ?
4, Tell me some good speakers to buy like the 5.1 Surround speakers.

Please do give your recomendations and im sorry if i posted this the wrong place but i think its the right place. Thanks for you help in advance.

To run all games and keep your system smooth, most people recommend at least a minimum of 1GB RAM. Something like the following would do nicely if your on a budget :

Alot of people dislike Corsair for some reason but I have never had any trouble with them. I also have this RAM in an older system running at 2-2-2-5 timings with no stability issues and its surprisingly overclockable.

I am guessing your running an IDE mobo in which case the Hitachi Deskstar is a good choice :

160GB 8.5ms seek time and 8MB buffer all make this HDD good value for money. The seagate Barracuda is also a good HDD with similar specs but a bit more costly.

As for a GFX card, there are plenty to choose from. I personaly like the 6800GT if your on a budget. The GT version of the 6800 has been replaced by the GS, but, the GS is only a few dollars less and is also less powerfull so if you can find a 6800GT and have the money for it, its the one to get.

If you can't stretch for a 6800GT/GS then the next card I would recomend is the ATI X800GT, similar performance on paper but a lot cheaper:

As for speakers, I have no idea.
