I have a small computer store and I offer refilling for Dell and Lexmark printers. A customer customer called and reported the system is telling him the ink is empty and it is not printing.

I researched the problem online and found the this cartridge has a chip as a preventative measure to refilling. Does anyone know how to bypass the measure? I can't seem to find the instructions.

I search google for:
bypassing ink cartridge chips.

That is one of many hits.

thanks was a pretty good tutorial but it didn't help my customer :( he said he is unable to select the cartridge, he also said there is a X over the ink level meter. Seems as if the machine isn't aware there is a cartridge in it. Wonder if it's one of those with the fuse or chip?

There were many other hits on that search. I would redo the search and see what else is available.
