while im playing Crysis, my computer restarts and then loads till the windows xp page, then restarts again. etc. Only does it sometimes? But when I putt it off for a +- 20 seconds and switch it on again it goes in to windows fine. could this be a virus or overheating problems where my pc is trying to protect itself?

I would say overheating - do you have a temp monitor?

Start your comp with the case open and see if all of your fans are working.

might be bad RAM too.

Most definitely sounds like overheating to me. I wouldn't rule out other possibilities, but definitely focus on that for the moment.

Like jflynn said, download a temperature monitor and keep an eye on your CPU, RAM, and video card.

Typically, when RAM overheats, things just... stop working. When the video card overheats, you start noticing artifacts (irregularities) in your graphics. When the CPU overheats, the system will normally shutdown to protect itself, which is what could be happening.

If all of your fans and cooling mechanisms are working but the CPU is overheating, you may need to get a better CPU cooler.

RAM of your computer maybe not tight or virus?

If the RAM weren't secured correctly, the system would fail POST, so that's not the problem.

Bogey, yes it makes a beep sound when it restarts and then makes a beep sound again just before u see the Windows Xp loading screen. all my fans work. ive been running my Computer on this cooling setup for a while and there wasn't eny problems before, but i did get a new graphics card?

Could it maybe be that my powersupply isn't big enought for the new system???

Well there is no irregularities in my graphics. could be RAM overheating. and my CPU temperatures aren't low, but they havent gone over 60 degrees, so it doesn't make sense?!

I'll download a RAM temperature monitor.....

About the beeps... is there a certain pattern to them? Or is it just one beep? (If it's a pattern it would be like morse code... For example 1-2-1... 1 beep *pause* 1 beep 1 beep *pause* 1 beep) saying that just in case... and for the record.

No offense to you about that or anything... sorry if you took any.

Looks like the temperature of your CPU gets gradually higher (like everyones) although I'm not sure if those are average temperatures and average rate of getting hotter...

None taken...

remember the log i putt in there isn't for my CPU but for my GPU?
so basically i can take my graphics card of the list of things that could be doing this, but its the only new thing on my PC, and it wasn't doing this before!

Are you using the newest drivers for your video card? What kind of cooling are you using with the GPU?

27 and 28 seem a little high for your CPU cores, but not so high as to cause problems.

Check your event logs for errors. There's a good chance you'll find the source of the problem there.

Goto Start > Run... and type in "events.msc" without the quotes. Check the System logs and Application logs. If you see any errors, double-click them and copy the descriptions so we can take a look.

Well, like it has being mentioned before, the graphics card, when over heated won't cause this trouble. Knowing that you know that and posting that log for other purposes.

Could a CPU problem be related to a GPU problem? Or something similar? Just throwing the question out there...

Also, check if your computer is overclocked as mentioned by thus user at this forum

If you see any errors, double-click them and copy the descriptions so we can take a look.

events.msc... doesn't work ???

Sorry, I'm used to working in XP.

If you're running Vista, it's "eventvwr.msc"

What's the chance of uninstalling the old graphics card and putting the old back in? test it like that for a bit to see if it shuts down?

Is the old video onboard? did you disable it?
