Save from modem-damaged

It was a thunderstorm. And although i had the computer off, modem off , it still hit by lightning. My suggestion is unplug modem cable from the main socket / whatever telephone cable that is joined in the modem (pull-off) to save yourself from such a disaster - using dial-up for two weeks now, waiting for the warranty claim.

Are you sure that lightning is covered under warranty? I don't think it is. If I were you, I'd buy a modem.

Got a replaced-unit. (modem). They never asked what was the caused. I wasn't sure it was lightning. Probably was. So all i configured again. Solved. Glad it is.
